Honoring Joe's Legacy of Service and His Love of Fishing Through Conservation and Healing
Joe’s main passions in life were fishing and being a U.S. Marine.
From deep sea fishing off the coast of the Outer Banks and south Florida to fly fishing the rivers and streams of Iceland, the Mountain West, and the Chesapeake, he always enjoyed his time on the water. For Joe, fishing was not just about the thrill of the take, but more about the solitude and connection it brought to nature and those who were lucky to be by his side. Joe seemed most at peace casting a fly or trolling a lure with a token smoke in hand, his signature attentive fish glare and, when lucky, a boisterous “OORAH, FISH ON!”
Some of Joe’s favorite fishing destinations included fly fishing for Atlantic salmon on the Hrutafjardara River in Iceland, fishing the Snake River in Wyoming for cutthroats, wading the waters of the Beaverkill River in New York and the Gunpowder River in Maryland for rainbows, hooking into monster bluefin tuna off the coast of Hatteras and countless saltwater fishing adventures on his boat, the Happy Hooker.
In honor of Joe’s service as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam and his passion for fishing, please consider a donation to Project Healing Waters in his memory.
