Travis’s Journey: From Small Lakes to Big Memories
When he was very young Travis was taught to fish by his Grandpa Scott. Those early outings started at the small lakes around Aspermont, Texas and continued on Scott vacations to Creede, Colorado. The art of fly fishing and fly tying developed into a passion of Travis's and his grandfather taught him well.
Through the highs and lows of life Travis enjoyed the solitude found while fly fishing streams, rivers and remote lakes. Travis was known for keeping a reel or fly rod in his truck in case of an unexpected opportunity. Wouldn't we like a map of those "acted on" unexpected opportunities.
In honor of Travis’s memory, donations can be made to Project Healing Waters—a nonprofit that brings healing and hope to Veterans through the art of fly fishing. This mission beautifully reflects Travis’s lifelong love for fishing, the peace he found on the water, and the joy he shared with others through the sport. Supporting this cause is a meaningful way to celebrate the passions that defined his life.
